Who it is for
- Fire safety companies and consultancies that want an independent check on their assessors' reports before issue
- Housing providers, local authorities and managing agents that want assurance about the reports they have commissioned
- Organisations growing a team of assessors and needing a consistent standard across it
What we review
- Scope and method. The right type of assessment for the building, following a recognised method such as BS 9792:2025 or PAS 79-1:2020.
- Legislation and standards. References that are correct, current and relevant to the building.
- Building information. Height, construction, occupants and evacuation strategy, and the duties that follow from them.
- Findings. Whether the comments and photographs support the conclusions, and whether anything has been missed or contradicts itself.
- Risk rating. Whether the overall rating is justified by the findings.
- Actions. Specific, achievable, correctly prioritised and directed to the right party.
- Clarity. Whether the responsible person can understand the report and act on it.
What you receive
Clear written feedback on each report, with the corrections needed before it is issued. Where it helps, we also give developmental feedback to the assessor so the same issues do not come up again, raising the standard of future reports as well as the one being reviewed.
Why it matters
A Fire Risk Assessment may be relied on by residents, enforcing authorities, insurers and, if something goes wrong, the courts. Section 156 of the Building Safety Act 2022 requires the name of the person or organisation that carried out the assessment to be recorded, so the quality of every report reflects directly on whoever issued it.
